Yes, there will be waves -

little itty-bitty teenie tiny ones - unless there is a storm out in the gulf.

so what do you suggest

You should stay in Cocoa Beach. The waves will be bigger.

We stayed in Cocoa Beach last year in May and had a blast. The waves were huge! (but not too huge) Even my 7 year old brother was out there w/ his boogie board the whole time and had a blast, as did my boyfriend and I. We are staying in Clearwater this year though, b/c we like to try somewhere new every year and have never been there. I don%26#39;t personally need the waves, just give me a float and and I will drift in the water to my hearts content!

We%26#39;re heading to Cocoa beach this June. Since your looking for an inexpensive room try renting a condo. You can hit the grocery store and not even spend any money to go out to eat. Check out www.vrbo.com which list vaction rentals in the states and all over the world. I%26#39;ve justed signed for #49507 for a week and it comes with a surf board, boogie board, chairs, umbrella and beach towels. No need to rent a thing. Good luck with your vacation plans.

Longdistance/endeavour/sailmaster is quite correct that the waves gently lap in - but when there is a disturbance out in the gulf the waves are quite substantial at times. Then the surfer dudes come down to the beach.

It is like the lakeside in Chicago usually, however.

i was gonna stay in cocoa beach but then people at work said it would be a little bit cold in april

i guess what i really need is to talk to someone that lives there so my email is sizzorgirl@yahoo.com and my yahoo im id is sizzorgirl67 please anyone

If your from chicago, april will be plenty warm(highs in upper 70%26#39;s to low 80%26#39;s), and water will be very swimmable at low 70%26#39;s. I surf there throughout the year.(wet suit in the winter)...you may even head to lauderdale by the sea, pompano beach, or fort lauderdale for some surf.

Clearwater is nice, and great for families, but the surf can be minimal unless a storm is brewing in the Gulf.
