Best Miami or south beach hotel for wife and I, and 3...

Please help me with best hotel. I have been put of the newport beachside, and now have the Doubletree Oceanpoint resort in mind, HELP?????

Best Miami or south beach hotel for wife and I, and 3...

It%26#39;s often said that South Beach really isn%26#39;t a family-oriented vacation spot. Besides the beach (which is topless so some parents aren%26#39;t into it) and one hotel%26#39;s pool, there really isn%26#39;t much for children to do.

We%26#39;ve never stayed at the Doubletree Ocean Point Resort but I%26#39;ve seen other folks on this web site say it%26#39;s nice. As a general rule, beaches and areas more north of South Beach(such as North Miami Beach) are typically better suited for familes. I just saw that the DoubleTree Ocean Point is an all-suite hotel! That right there makes it a winner for the hotel rooms in South Beach are usually VERY small!

Hope that helps!

Cheers!

cheers for that, anywhere in miami for families is fine. If anyone has any more hotel ideas, thank you...

Loews forsure is the best hotel for families in South Beach and if you want to be in a more family area then the Fountainbleau but it is dated.

Last Feb. break we stayed in the Eden Roc. It was great. I had my 17 yr. old daughter and her friend. They loved it. The gym is great, the boardwalk is right behind hotel. Two great pools. We are going back next week!

I strongly recommend the Doubletree Oceanpoint resort if you are looking for a quiet vacation. The staff are very helpful, and the rooms are significantly larger than most rooms on South Beach. The beaches near 173rd and Collins are quieter and clean.

One issue about staying in the Doubletree is that you are not within walking distance to several restaurants and shops like you would be if you were staying near South Beach. South Beach has such a variety of restaurants for breakfast / lunch / dinner. All within walking distance or a short cab ride away! If you will be renting a car or willing to take cabs for a 20 - 25 minute drive each way then the Doubletree will be fine for you. Hope this helps!
