Abandoned 'Hotel Pets!

There was a lovely Kitten who prowled ( probably still does) the grounds of our Hotel when we were out there.

My wife asked the Hotel who it belonged to and was told it was fairly commonplace, whereby people sometimes take their pets with them, only to discard them at the Hotel.

I had been thinking about contacting an Animal Shelter by email to advise them of this poor little kitten who seemed to stuggle most of the time in the heat out there-Just like me!

Does anyone know of a Shelter that I can perhaps contact with a view to perhaps finding that kitten with a home?

I wish my wife would leave me in Orlando at the end of our holiday but she still insist i return with her.

Mike:

So........it was you sitting behind the bushes having a scratch the day we left for home?

I wasn%26#39;t scratching. lol

You Exhibitionist!

I bet the Pet Cemetary, sorry, sanctuary people have enough lost and ill pets without you sending them out recruiting. These poor volunteers have to steal some moggy and when asked they say some dude from UK called Renfield told us to find a cute little kitten and save it from the heat.

I think you need %26#39;Shelter%26#39;.

Anyway can you trust these people. NO

Don%26#39;t TRUST these PEOPLE

Has the ';I don%26#39;t trust these people'; person reappeared on TA? I%26#39;m off to Orlando in Nov %26amp; need a description, don%26#39;t want to get caught out by ';these people'; especially if I arrive late!

TA pulled it today because - well I dont really know.

I just hope Jorge gets in touch as he did during that thread.

Come back Jorge

Dont TRUST these PEOPLE

Vegas: You old scroat! I%26#39;m serious-My heart went out to that Pussycat!-It really was struggling but everyone, including me in the end. turned a blind eye.

I ditto that. I may get my local MP on the case! Hope Jorge has gone into therapy %26amp; moved on now......

Four Winds Beach Resort

Hi, My husband and 11 month old will be at the 4 winds in October, first trip to Longboat Key. Any feedback on resort and things to do, good restaurants etc., plus with easy going baby?? Thanks.

Four Winds Beach Resort

We used to own a unit in that complex. The grounds are lovely. Just be sure to do the ';stingray shuffle'; in the water there. For some reason we always saw more stingrays in that area than in most other areas. There%26#39;s a shopping center right across street w/ a Publix shopping center. Mote Marine Aquarium is close by (just head south) and your baby might enjoy looking at all the fish in the aquariums - it is a lot of fun for parents too! Right by the aquarium is a Salty Dog cafe casual seafood restaurant, open air. If it is still there, there was a great little pizza/Italian restaurant called Ciao. It%26#39;s located in a strip shopping center north of the resort. Both are casual %26amp; fine w/ a baby. St. Armands Key is also near by and has tons of dining/shopping opportunities - including the Columbia restaurant which is a locally famous Spanish restaurant (the original one is in Ybor City). Hope this helps!

I'm back!!

Well i%26#39;ve actually been back for a week but things have been hectic since my return so i haven%26#39;t had time to post anything yet! A great time was had by all, the weather was hot, hot, HOT, tropical storm Ophelia had just passed so we didn%26#39;t get affected by her, so i was loving it! All the parks were really quiet so we walked onto all the rides which was great, i%26#39;ve never been able to do that before! We stayed at the Comfort Inn International, which, whilst not being the Ritz, was perfectly adequate for mine and my friend%26#39;s needs. Free continental breakfast, maid service daily, fridge and microwave in the rooms. The pool area was a bit small, but as it was pretty quiet, it didn%26#39;t matter. The hotel was very clean, and it was in a great location for a non driver like myself! We loved the hotel and Orlando in Sept so much that we are planning on going back next year at the same time, to the same place!

I'm back!!

Welcome home!!!

Glad you had a fantastic time, please please write a post about where you ate and if Bahama breeze etc was as good this time as last time, did you try anywhere new? anywhere you would avoid in the future?

also, how did you find the prices of meals, drinks, petrol during your trip? much of a price hike since the last time you were there? ohh what was the flight like?

Sounds like you had a really chilled out break, fantastic :-)

I'm back!!

hi and welcome home....glad you had such a wonderful time sounds like we both had a brill time away, also glad you missed the bad weather and happy saving for next year...

Well done UKDiva it looks like it all went well. One point you raised struck a chord -

Going back to the same place year after year - now there is a topic.

I used to laugh at the poor old stiffs who had no imagination. They went back to Skegness or Mablethorpe every year when there was a whole World to see. Then 15 years ago we went for the %26#39;trip of a lifetime%26#39; and we have gone back every year since.

I just cannot find anywhere better. At Easter we try different places in Europe and Far East but nothing compares.

Sun, heat, golf, sharks teeth, baseball, good food, doing my whole casual clothing shop for the year in Marshalls and Maxx, and just being chilled. Now that is a real holiday to me but it would not suit everybody

Am I sad or just content. (I do not spend all of my time in Orlando however!)

Vegas - I know what you mean, i do holiday in other places [usually all in America though! *lol*] but nowhere i%26#39;ve been has yet to come close to Orlando, i can%26#39;t describe what i like about the place, i just love it! I have to go back at least once a year otherwise i start getting withdrawals!

CBR - I didn%26#39;t go to Bahama Breeze this time around, but i found prices to be more or less the same as they were last year. I cleared out my wallet and then some at Premium Outlets and Florida Mall, the clothes prices are still as cheap as ever! Can%26#39;t comment on the price of petrol as i don%26#39;t drive, but can advise that ciggies are bloody cheap! *lol* 2 packs of Marlboro for $5.49 in Walgreens and $24.99 for a carton of 200. Looks like i won%26#39;t be giving up smoking any time soon!

I%26#39;ll definately be back next Sept, and for longer than a week that time around. We met some fantastic people, had a brilliant time and i%26#39;m hating being home and back at work! ;-)

totally agree with what everyone else says... we do holiday at other places but can not beat Orlando we just love it, and yeah the ciggs were well cheap... and the food out of this world... just going to get xmas over with then saving up all over again just do not know how long it will take as we want to go for 3 weeks this time..we had thought that we would try a disney hotel but money wise this was silly, so then decided to go back to quality inn plaza, how ever with so many of us we thought we would try the embassy suites next door it looks good and resonable and has had good reviews on it...happy planning uk diva and happy saving..

Hi ukdiva,

sounds like you had a great time. I have been back almost four weeks and I am missing Orlando sooooo much. I couldn%26#39;t even imagine going anywhere else on holiday that would come close to Orlando. Could anyone else?????

Welcome back Diva :)

Hi Uk diva,

glad you had a great time, were the same, people say to us, arnt you due to go to florida, we also love it, im getting itchy feet and starting to look for feb, weve never been that time of year before, i cant see it beeing too crowed, anyway were used to the crowds at july 4th and christmas, mind you, i dont mind when we go as long as we go,

welcome home

amber

Thanks all! It is kinda nice to be home and see my friends and family and stuff, but i wish i could transport them all over to Orlando! *lol* Oh well, i will just have to look forward to next Sept, and take a few side trips in the meantime! My friend and i are thinking about Las Vegas for a week at the end of Jan! ;-)

ukdiva

As it seems there may be a few of you in your party have you considered renting a villa with pool. We find this works for us. Actually cheaper than many hotels especially if you book with an english owner direct rather than through an agent.

Quite honestly I would not consider going anywhere where we do not have en suite bedroom each and own pool but obviously due to locations of many villas you do need to rent a car but thats something we would do anyway whichever country we holiday in.

Assure you I am not a villa owner looking for some free publicity.

  • La Nouba

I have visited the Cirque du Soleil website. We will be traveling with 4 adults and 1 child... 6yrs. old. Although we adults would like to go see this show... not sure if the 6 year old would enjoy it. Also, how long is the show?

    La Nouba

    Irish,

The show is a straight 1 1/2 hour with no breaks.

do you think my six year old boy would enjoy it?

Yes irish he would love it! Enjoy!

    irish1

We went mid August and the show was brilliant.

Don%26#39;t pay loads of money for the top price seats as ALL seats have a good view.

Lots of action all of the time so I would guess that your 6 year old would be kept amused all of the time

    Have fun !!

we went when my son was 6. it is visually and auditorally stimulating, with lots to see, BUT much of it is beyond a small child, and it is long without intermission. my son enjoyed it.

Thanks... looks like we will give it a try. Irish

    what can i do

after buying a package deal to celebration wrold in june 2005 we still have recived nothing from them by post, they wont let us cancel who can i go to to complane about what they are doing anyone known

    what can i do

I would try the better business bureau. If that doesn%26#39;t work and if you paid with a credit card you can contact your credit card copmpany and dispute the charges with them. You need to tell them thatyou never rcieved the promised product and you will probaly have to write a letter to your credit card company to tell them the situation and they should refund your money. If you paid by check unless you can get teh compnayn to send you your money back you probaly have lost it.

  • Shows in WDW

Since discovering this site i have read alot about priority seating and booking in advance. But i go in just 12 day and have only just become aware of it. Is it possible that we will still be able to see things such as the Snow White and Aladdin musicals as our daughter is really looking forward to them.

    Shows in WDW

Priority seating is for the resteraunts. All other shows and attractions inside the disney parks have a queing system, so yes, your daughter will be able to see them! Have a great trip.

    Shows in WDW

PS. just re-read your question and I%26#39;m not sure where the Snow White or Aladdin musicals are - Iknow there is a Beauty and the Beast musical at MGM.

Thanks so much that is a relief. I%26#39;ve checked on the Disney website and there is both an Aladdin and a Snow White musical, does anyone know of anywhere you can see reviews of them.

I%26#39;m with sonny, i%26#39;ve never seen a Snow White or Aladdin show in any of the Disney parks. Apparently Magic Kingdom have a new Cinderella show that has come over from their Tokyo resort, and MGM have Beauty and the Beast which is fantastic, i%26#39;ve seen it about six times! *lol* And then Animal Kingdom have the Lion King show which is also worth a look. I%26#39;m not sure what parks Snow White and Aladdin are in though!

I%26#39;m not familiar with the Snow White and Aladdin musicals either.

I know you didn%26#39;t ask about dining, but if you haven%26#39;t done so already, I suggest calling for priority seating at a few restaurants. This way you have some dining options in place and can cancel them if you need to. The Crystal Palace in the Magic Kingdom has Winnie the Pooh characters and a great buffet. Another one that we heard is really good and want to try, but haven%26#39;t been able to get into before 9pm is Chef Mickey.

    Have a great time!

Another suggestion because it%26#39;ll be very hot and they%26#39;ll be selling these for a lot more when you get there are the squirt bottles with little fans on them to help you keep cool.

Snow White and Aladdin shows are at Disneyland and Disney%26#39;s California Adventure parks.

Don%26#39;t i feel so stupid. Thanks

The Lion King show at Animal Kingdom, IMHO, is not to be missed!!! It was GREAT!!!

Like the previous poster(s) has said, Priority Seating (Reservations) are availiable ONLY for restaurants. There are multiple show times for the shows at the theme parks, you can usually find this posted at the theater entrances or on the park Times %26amp; Information pamphlet that can be picked up at the park entrance along with your park map, just make sure you arrive before the time of the show so you have time to find a decent seat (arrive earlier for good seats) and just incase the theaters fill up and no more guests are admitted at that time. FANTASMIC at MGM studios is brilliant and is worth the entrance fee alone.

Booking two rooms at Pop Century or the All Starts

We go to Disney every year. Lately we%26#39;ve been staying off-property. In the past we%26#39;ve stayed at the Moderate Resorts, found them nice, but of course lacking a lot of amenities that other hotels provide free of charge. Anyway . . . this year my kids are off Easter week (this does not happen every year). Was thinking of booking two adjoining rooms at one of the Value Resorts, so we can be on property. Don%26#39;t want to spend a lot - we were just down Disney in December.

Would love to hear feedback from anyone that has done this. Also concerned that these resorts might be a little noiser than some other places - would also love to hear feedback on this.

Thank to anyone who can help!!

Booking two rooms at Pop Century or the All Starts

Ask for ';connecting'; rooms, not ';adjoining'; rooms. Adjoining just means your rooms will be next door to each other. Connecting means there will be access back and forth through doors between the rooms. It seems like a little thing, but when you expect one thing and get another, it can be a big disappointment.

Booking two rooms at Pop Century or the All Starts

Thank for that clarification. If we do this we do want the rooms to be ';Connecting'; via the inside!
