Lago Mar - Breakfast Eateries Nearby?

Wish I could be more helpful, but a big part of the appeal of Lago Mar is that it is somewhat secluded- off by itself on the beach- so you would probably have to limit your breakfasts to that facility- unless you have a car and want to venture to the Floridian on Las Olas ( a little coffee shop where lots of locals have breakfast regularly.) Haven%26#39;t stayed at Lago Mar myself, but the rooms may have a small fridge, in which case you could stock in some bagels or pastries from a Cuban bake shop- guava pastries are delicious for one!

If you are further afield and see a branch of the Original Pancake House- be sure to stop in for a ';Dutch Baby'; or one of their other specialties- lots of good choices- but definitely would be a ride!

When we were at the Lago Mar, they gave us directions on how to walk to the water taxi. THEY said it is about 6 blocks. The water taxi can take you to the Floridian Diner...ask what is the best stop. It%26#39;s on Las Olas Blvd, about 4 blocks E of the very expensive places.

The water taxi is a great value. www.watertaxi.com that offers 7 days of unlimited service for $20.00....from the convention center (near port everglades to as far N as Oakland Park Blvd, and west to the Pref Arts Center. BUT THE BOATS TAKE A LOT OF TIME.

Almost right next to the Lago Mar is the Marriott Harbour Beach Resort. They have a buffett breakfast for about $16.00 that includes a lot of stuff. (Saw smoked salmon, smoked whitefish, kippers....with an egg station, omlet station, and waffles station, all served with fresh fruits, and bad stuff....BUT I also don%26#39;t know how far the walk would be.

When you get to the Lago Mar, note a small lake on the W side of the entrance of the hotel. This blocks off the easiest access to walk straight to the Marriott (or the Sheraton, Best Western %26amp; so on). It might be too hot in the summer or fall to walk to the place on the beach. (We did walk to the Harbour Beach Resort from Marriott Beach place...was about a mile.)

The staff at the Lago Mar are super helpful.....they might be able to help. (The water taxi did once stop there, but stopped for some reason)
