do's %26amp; dont's in fort lauderdale

Go to Howl at the Moon in the Beach Place complex. It%26#39;s a blast!

A walk along the beach at A1A at sunset is a must. I would highly recommend taking a ride on the River Boat Queen, which allows you to see the hidden parts of Ft. Lauderdale by water. Otherwise you can take a water taxi between locations. Las Olas Blvd. - http://www.lasolasboulevard.com- is a fun, trendy type of place, with every type of restaurant you could imagine. I highly recommend going to the Sunday Jazz Brunch along the River (grab a newspaper and listen to some music, then go have breakfast at Caf锟斤拷锟斤拷锟斤拷锟斤拷锟斤拷锟斤拷锟斤拷锟斤拷锟斤拷 La Bonne Cr锟斤拷锟斤拷锟斤拷锟斤拷锟斤拷锟斤拷锟斤拷锟斤拷锟斤拷pe (on the north side of Las Olas). While in that area there is also the Museum of Discovery and Science -mods.com-(across from the Broward Performing Arts Center). Kilwins (on Las Olas) is a very good sweet shop, so if you like home made ice cream or candy this is the place to go. If German pancakes filled with cinnamon and apples appeal to you then definately go to the Orignal Panacake House -http://www.originalpancakehouse.com- and get the Apple Baby.

Have a great trip!

I love this question. Here goes:

Do: Spend lots of time at the beach and try to see several areas of the beach, as each has its own vibe

Take a night-time stroll down Las Olas Blvd to window-shop, grab a cocktail and a light bite

Get on the waterways -- the Water Taxi is the cheapest way to do this, or you can do the Jungle Queen as another poster suggested. Lauderdale isn%26#39;t much to look at from the roadways, but since most of the wealth is clustered on the waterways, it%26#39;s by far the most beautiful and unique thing abou the ';Venice of America.';

Do the 2-for1 lunch at Blue Moon Fish Company on the Intracoastal Waterway at Commercial. If you%26#39;re really lucky you%26#39;ll see a manatee (I%26#39;ve seen 2 in 5 years), but you%26#39;ll definitely see a constant parade of boaters.

Stop by Maguire%26#39;s Hill 16 on Andrews Ave. for a pint and to say hello to the expats. They may convince you to stay :-)

Try to get out to the Everglades -- you%26#39;ll understand why it%26#39;s a world heritage site.

Get off the major roads and drive through some of the city%26#39;s charming 1920%26#39;s and 30%26#39;s neighborhoods (Rio Vista is especially nice, as is Coral Ridge).

Don%26#39;t: Assume that anyone obeys any traffic laws, especially those involving pedestrian crosswalks. It%26#39;s every man for himself on S. Florida streets.

Take any of these time-share tours where they offer you a cruise or some junk. They%26#39;ll chew up an entire day of your vacation.

Rent a car from anyplace other than an on-airport, major chain. Lots of sleazy, dubious rental car firms here.

Don%26#39;t forget your sunscreen. Even in the dead of winter, you can get a nasty burn if you%26#39;re not used to elevated UV levels.

Most of all, don%26#39;t forget to relax, have fun and soak up some sand and sun. That%26#39;s what we%26#39;re all here for.
