Proposing marriage

I will be in Miami October 14th and want to propose to my long-time girlfriend. I am thinking about staying at the Sonesta Resort, the Eden Roc, or the Hilton Fountainbleau, and I am picturing an on-the-beach proposal. Any suggestions? Which of these hotels have the nicest beach area, not real crowded, etc.?

Proposing marriage

Do you mean Sonesta Key Biscayne or Sonesta Sunny Isles?

Eden Roc and Fountainbleau are right next door to each other, so they both share the same beach. Good spot for a romantic proposal, especially on a week day near sunset time as that%26#39;s when it%26#39;s least crowded. My husband actually set up a surprise picnic on the beach right around that area for dinner once and it worked out great.

Sunny Isles beach is further north, but still nice as is the Key Biscayne location. The *only* place I would not propose would be on South Beach. Too crowded and can be a little un-safe. But any of the locations you mentioned would work well.

Good luck!

Lucky girlfriend! Oct is the slower time of year, so if you stay away from SoBe you should have a lot of privacy. Good Luck %26amp; enjoy Miami Beach.

As mentioned earlier, October is one of the slower times in Miami Beach. I%26#39;ve found that even on South Beach, there are large stretches of the beach that are not very crowded.

A couple other things:

1) The Fountainbleau was sold a little while ago and is no longer a Hitlon property... which may not matter unless you were planning on staying for free using Hilton HHONOR points.

2) ';Miami Beach'; has it%26#39;s own forum on this web site that is focused on the places you mentioned. You may find it more helpful than the ';Miami'; forum. Miami Beach and Miami are two seperate cities.

We typically stay around 16th and 17th street in Miami Beach (the northern part of South Beach) but stayed at the Fountainbleau 4 years ago or so. As I recall, the beach isn%26#39;t nearly as wide around the ';Bleau'; as it is in South Beach, but there were large sections of the beach that were void of people. But as it%26#39;s off season, you may find this to be true at many places up and down Miami Beach.

We%26#39;ll actually be there when you are going to be there. Stop by the 17th street beach access and say Hi. I%26#39;ll keep my eye open for a gentleman on one knee with a wedding ring in his hand.

Good luck and congratulations!

Have you considered this place.. just north. Really one of the best deals going right now. Leave you lots of extras for spa treatments or romantic surprises that weekend....

This is your chance to stay at one of Marriott%26#39;s newest upscale oceanfront hotels at a ridiculously low price. For only $99 per night, stay at the brand-new Hollywood Beach Marriott and get a full breakfast buffet for two each morning. This package normally costs $299 per night!

This deal just gets better. If you purchase any spa treatment, they%26#39;ll give you a FREE Fiji spa amenity bag worth $50. We love the fact that travel is valid everyday until Oct. 30 - even weekends! You must book by Sept. 30.

This resort is conveniently located only 10 minutes from the Ft. Lauderdale airport. It%26#39;s nestled right in-between the oceanfront broadwalk and the Intercoastal Waterway. Having just opened in July, their brand-new rooms feature plush amenities like Plasma TV%26#39;s, down comforters, marble baths and thick bath robes. Each room comes with a balcony with a partial oceanview room, or you can upgrade to a Full Oceanview room for just $40 more.
