Babes in the Hot Sun- No....Not those kinds of Babe!

As some of you know, I have just come back from a 2 week spell in Kissimmee.

It was very Hot and Humid.

What I couldn%26#39;t fathom out while out for the day at MGM Studios, was how many young babies there were being pushed around in their strollers who, in my opiinion, were not adequately covered/protected from the Hot sun-Head, Arms and Legs.

So may little tikes crying too, it%26#39;s begs the question why do parents take these little babies out in such heat and not ensure they%26#39;re shaded from the Sun properly.It%26#39;s not as if they can%26#39;t say they%26#39;re feeling uncomfortable, can they?

Sun unbrellas are a must with small kids in buggys! Factor 50 and a decent sun hat with a peak and a bit that hangs down the back to cover the neck are also good.

Now our girls are a bit older they tend to wear the lycra speedo full body swim suits. (they look like the type of wet suit an adult wears but all different colours and lightweight) you can pick these suits up for about 拢10 in M %26amp; S and they are excellent.

Another top tip - freeze about 10 flannels, put them in a cool bag with an ice pack and they will last you all day. A cold towel to wipe down a child on a hot day can be a life saver when they are hot and grizzly.

I think kids can adapt quite quickly to climate change, provided they are protected from the sun and are not out between 12 - 3.30 then they should be ok.

People treat the sun like smoking and drinking, we all know its bad for us but we still do it. You wouldnt let you child have a vodka and a fag, so why would you let them out in the blistering sun when not properly protected?

I have two small children and we live in the hot sun of Georgiand travel quite a bit to Florida. We have always used the sunscreen called Waterbabies made by Coppertone. I can not explain in words how well this stuff works. The kids literally get no sun at all while wearing this stuff, and of course it is waterproof. I highly recomend people trying it.

It is in a pink bottle with brown writing on it.

you brought back memories Rev, once we were standing waiting for the afternoon parade a MK, The sun was belting down on us and we had our caps on, standing next to me was a woman with a baby of around 18months ish, the poor baby was crying, no shade whatsoever, and of course no hat or protection on his head, well i couldnt help myself, and politly explained that we were at the hottest time of the day (it was july) and this baby need to get out of the sun and in the shade, and be given plenty of water, at first the mum took offense, then i explained we lived in spain and weve seen this so many times before, the lady quietly took the baby in shade, if i was there or here, id have no quarms in telling someone to cover up there baby, some people just dont get it,

Thick or what

Amber

Chris: Liked you last paragraph-Very poignant and True!

Krisb: Hope others will take heed on the Sunfactor-make it High for the babes.

Amber: Thick or What-No, definitely no think-You obviously struck a chord with the Mother and wouldn%26#39;t have taken the baby inside and given it some water had her conscience not troubled her when you made your remark.

I just think it%26#39;s madness at the way we humans expose our bodies in the hot sun and then we all wonder why in later life some of us fall ill as a result. Walking around in the Hot Sun is, let%26#39;s face it, high dangerous-Period.
