Has anyone stayed at this hotel recently? We are due to stay there over easter and some of the reviews are bad. Is it ok? or should we stay somewhere else?
Best Western Movieland
I would try somewhere else just to be on the safe side. There%26#39;s a Fairfield Inn and Suites nearby on Canada Ave. that would be a better choice. It is conveniently located just off of International Drive and is a decent hotel. It is reasonably priced and the rooms are very clean and comfortable. The hotel provides a free continental breakfast each morning, which is an added value. Another option is the Hampton Inn, located at 7448 Internation Dr. It is more expensive than the Fairfield Inn, but is an outstanding hotel. The Hampton Inn is fairly new (opened early 2003) and also has a free breakfast. The breakfast at the Hampton Inn consists of a variety of both hot and cold breakfast items, which is not like the continental breakfasts served at some hotels. Either one of these hotels that I have recommended would be a good choice. Don%26#39;t stay at the Best Western (or should I call it the ';Worst Eastern';) unless you really have to.
Best Western Movieland
I%26#39;ve stayed at the Best Western Movieland 4 times and never had a bad time there. I%26#39;ve always found the rooms clean and the staff very helpful.
Just to let you know the last time i stayed there was during Hurricane Jeanne Sept 2004.
I would stay where you are and if for some reason your not happy see your rep if your going on a package holiday and get moved. We did that one year from the Rodeway ( DUMP ) to the Best Western Movieland.
I too have booked the Best Western Movieland for early March and would appreciate it if any more posters who have stayed at this hotel could tell if it is good or bad.
I%26#39;ve read the reviews of this hotel on this site and find that there appear to be more good reviews than bad.
Glad to read that the poster before me had stayed there 4 times without any complaints. Thanks for the review!
Hi i%26#39;ve just read this review of the hotel
tripadvisor.com/ShowUserReviews-g34515-d2746鈥?/a>
and i%26#39;m positive this person has never stayed at the Best Western Movieland,
The main reason being there are no escalators in this hotel.
I personally only use the hotel reviews as a very basic guide.
Example:- I stayed at the Rodeway on I-Drive and just about managed one night out of a 14 day trip , but if you read the reviews on the site most people love it.
Just imagine if everybody decided not to stay at a hotel with a bad review......Every hotel in the world would be empty :)
So i would say dont make your hotel choice by using the hotel reviews as you may be missing out on something you would like but other people dont.
i stayed last september.. clean rooms..hotel... pool.. value for money ..yes located opposite wet and wild ...5 restruarants within a stone,s throw ..i would recommend it if i had not stayed there ...hope this helps...
Yes, you%26#39;re absolutely correct. While I don%26#39;t believe that the BW is the nicest/best hotel in Orlando, there are some hotels and motels that are a lot worse. I have a feeling that some people who write reviews on here are either really hard to please or get confused in area such as Orlando where there are many hotels with the same name and submit the review under the wrong hotel. There is a Best Western Orlando West that is a complete dump. Maybe some of the negative reviews listed under the BW Movieland were actually for the BW Orlando West. I am sorry if I made the BW Movieland sound like a bad place. It is a decent place to stay, but is nothing fancy. Just don%26#39;t expect it to be a Ritz-Carlton and you%26#39;ll be fine. (Speaking of the Ritz, I don%26#39;t understand why the hotel%26#39;s ranking fell from #1 to #4 just because of a negative, probably made-up review).
my friends stayed at this hotel last year and had no problems, clean rooms and nice staff, dont worry, its not like you stay there all day.
Thank you to everyone who replied to my post, I feel much better about staying at this hotel now I choose it because it was near to Wet and Wild and the juncton to Universal.
I read the reviews for BWM and they were not good. I would stay at the Hawthorn Suites on Canada Avenue. It is reasonable but also includes free deluxe brkfst each morning, free dinner every Wednesday night, free manager%26#39;s hours (Mon-Thur) which are free drinks (everything from beer to martinis%26#39;,it has a full kitchen (3 burner stove, full fridge, diswasher, garbage disposle, the pool isn%26#39;t the greatest but it is better than nothing, and the best part is your are right around the corner from international drive (which would be stop number 22 on the i-ride trolley).
happy trails
I have stayed at this hotel twice before the last time being in September last year, and we are staying there again in May of this year, dont think I would be staying there for a 3rd time if it was as bad as people say it is do you? Nothing wrong with this hotel, clean and has a pool and staff are friendly. It is centrally located with an I Ride troley stp right out the front if you needed one
