Does anyone have any experience with how reliable this ferry service is? I%26#39;ve read a few posts about the service on this forum, and while it has received numerous accolades, I%26#39;ve read several that refer to it being cancelled, I assume due to bad weather. How much of a risk am I taking to count on getting back to Ft. Myers on the ferry for a flight?
Key West Express ferry from SW Florida
KWE cannot control the weather, and it would appear that you are asking for a reassurance that no one can supply. The chances of your getting delayed or cancelled would be affected greatly by what time of year you are travelling. KWE does not depart Key West until 6pm and wouldn%26#39;t arrive back to Ft Myers Beach until after 9pm so unless you are flying on a red-eye you more then likely wouldn%26#39;t be catching a flight back that night. We%26#39;ve never experienced any problems using them. Another choice would be Cape Air they fly multiple times each day and would be easier to schedule a definate return time.
Key West Express ferry from SW Florida
I%26#39;ve taken the Ferry 3 time and it has always a good experience. But it is sometime cancelled because of bad weather. If you are going for one or two night you can check the weather. Being stuck in key west isn%26#39;t bad.
