Crowds and weather in early May

We are looking at taking the kids out of school for a week in early May to avoid the crowds and the heat in the summer months. How is the weather in early may? Will the kids get to enjoy the outdoor pools at the resorts or will they still be cool? How are the crowds at this time of the year. We are hoping to avoid the spring breakers and the Memorial day weekend crowds by going early May. Anyone have experience going this time of the year?

Crowds and weather in early May

First part of May should be a good time. Weather will be warm and probably not much rain then.

The pools at Disney and the water parks are all heated, so the kids should be fine there.

Crowds should be diminshed from Easter by then, so although it won%26#39;t be dead, you shouldn%26#39;t have a bad problem with crowds.

We used to go around the first of May and some things had waits for attractions, but not much. Use the Fastpass when you can. I was in college back then, but since graduating, we go earlier in the spring now.

Overall, this should be a really good time to go!!

Crowds and weather in early May

Hi Shell,

I have been to Florida late April/early May on a number of occasions and have normally found the weather to be nice. Normally not too hot or humid (but certainly warm enough) and not much rain (perhaps I have been lucky). Using the pools shouldn%26#39;t be a problem - most are heated in any case. The crowds are not normally a problem at this time of year. I consider it to be a great time of year to go - late enough to avoid spring break and easter, whilst early enough before the summer rush %26amp; unpleasant weather/hurricane season etc. Have fun!

shellgirl,

Wish we could join you. I used to go to Florida all the time late April, early May. I think it is absolutely the best time to go there, great weather, smaller crowds. Now that the kids are older I can%26#39;t take them out of school anymore!

Have a great time!!

Thanks everyone for your input!

Here in Orlando, we start to get warmed up in March. In May here it is like mid summer to most in the northern states. Usually around 80-85 but the humidity is not too bad. May isn%26#39;t really too busy generally but there are times during the first couple weeks that the parks have grad nights which means that you may have limited access. Usually it%26#39;s only at one park though so you are able to enjoy the others. Your hotel should be able to answer specifics for you. Our schools here get out the first part of May for seniors and the second to third week for the rest of students. You may have some crowds here and there but it will still be a great time.

I see they have grad night the weekend we are planning on going. It looks like they have two nights planned. I guess we can%26#39;t enjoy that one park for those two nights. Do they close them off to only the grads or do we just want to avoid that area because of the special event?
