I am meeting my sister in Tampa and I am staying one night in the La Quinta Inn, has anyone been there. I am landing around 9pm, are there plenty of taxis outside the airport, have you got to ask what the cost is.
Thanks

I live in Tampa so I have not stayed at any of them, the one on Fowler near USF looks nice from the outside. The one near the airport is older, and has exterior corridors. I am not familar with the South location.
La Quinta Inn
I have stayed at the La Quinta Airport location on Spruce Street many times. It is an older facility, but rather decent and clean. No problems really. Staff were friendly and helpful always.
Each of the Tampa La Quintas are good. Teh one right outside the airport is a $10.00 cab fare(that is the minimum for any cab outside the airport), check with the hotel for shuttle service.
The La Quinta in South Tampa on Gandy Blvd is brand new and would be a $15.00 cab fare. The La Quinta at USF on Fowler is very nice, and about a $25.00 cab fare.
Thanks for the info, it is the one nearest the airport that I have booked. Is it safe to walk around this area as I will be staying there by myself
Thanks
Sue
Hi
On the Sunday morning I am picking up a car from 5111 W Spruce Street, it must be the same street as the hotel that I am staying in, could anyone tell me if it is walking distance to pick the car up.
Sue
What is the name of the car rental agency you are picking your car up? Value/Dollar and Thrifty are all next to the La Quinta. It is a safe area, the International Plaza and Bay Street(mall and restaurants) are within walking, as is Westshore Blvd which has hotels and resturants.
Hi
Thanks for the info, the car company that we are using is Alamo
Thanks
Sue
Check if the hotel provides a shuttle...you can walk it, but its about 1/4 mile on a busy road. Taxi would be best otherwise.
Someone posted that the La Quinta Inn in South Tampa (Gandy Blvd)was new. Can you tell me how new? When was it built? Is it in a good location? Restaurants nearby? Also how far from the hotel to Busch Gardens? I%26#39;m travelling alone with my kids so I want to make sure I stay in a safe place. Thanks.
I believe that the La Quinta Inn on Gandy Boulevard was built in 2003. You might want to check out their webpage at www.lq.com/lq/properties/propertyProfile.do鈥?/a> for more information. The hotel is very clean and well-kept. The staff members are exceptionally friendly. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone staying in this area.
