My husband and I are headed for Naples next month. We prefer to spend our evenings walking to dinner and shopping. We are staying at the Naples Grande (The Registry). We would appreciate hearing from any local expert on whether or not we will find plenty of food and shopping within walking distance or is driving a necessity?
Thank you.
Walking around NaplesDriving is necessary from that hotel, for downtown Naples is located about 4 miles south. Although You will find there are a 2 hotels that are located in downtown, on Fifth Ave - where you can walk to the restaurants %26amp; shops. Otherwise, I suggest you rent a car if you still plan on staying there. Have a great time!
Walking around NaplesShekiniah, thanks for the feedback. We have decided to rent a car. I also was looking online for shopping/dining locations. Waterside Shops and The Village on Venetian Bay were mentioned. Anyone know if these are nice and how close they are to Naples Grande Resort?
the waterside shops are a complete mess as they remodel, if you have a car go up to exit 123 to miromar outlets. Also dinner at 5 ave or 3rd steet will be easier with a car, parking is free if you can find a spot or just a block or so away. just to the north of 5th ave is free parking garrage. Remember free is cool when you are spending $80.00 for dinner
Waterside is fine...a few restaurants as well. Silver Spoon is nice as well as reasonably priced. Approx. 1 mile from Registry...
Venetian Bay is nice, but in evening parking is a bear. Good pub, great Tuna sandwiches!!! Miromar is a good suggestion..
Downtown is so sheek it is silly..!!
Don%26#39;t be afraid to explore north on 41
towards Bonita..
Stan
Stan, Thank you for the reassurance concerning Waterside and all of the other great tips. What is north on 41? We are very excited to finally be seeing Naples after hearing so much about it from friends.
Thanks again
