Getting luggage from the airport to the hotel.

Hi

We are two families (4 adults and 5 kids) travelling to Orlando in March. We are staying at the WDW Hilton for 2 weeks.

We plan to rent 2 cars for the duration of the trip but, if we pick up the cars at the airport, will we be able to get all of our luggage (probably 9 cases in total)into the trunk?

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Hello Bariblak,

That depends on the type of car your renting. Cargo space varies depending on the vehicle.

Getting luggage from the airport to the hotel.

Have you checked on the WDW web site where they take your luggage and whisk it off to your resort and you get picked up by disney at the airport and taken to WDW? It%26#39;s all free too. I am sure it%26#39;s included at the Hilton, as long as it%26#39;s on Disney property.

Thanks, I e-mailed the Hilton for advice but they told me there is no shuttle service available.

The plan was to rent 2 medium size vehicles, as we only need the boot space on arrival/departure.

Would it make more sense to rent a large vehicle to take all nine of us (and our luggage) to the hotel and pick up the cars at the hotel??

Gosh, Bariblak I don%26#39;t think there is a vehicle out there that would fit 9 people plus 9 pieces of luggage. I would book a transportation company to take you to and from the airport and then rent from the resort.

We use Mears transporation. Check them out at www.mearstransportation.com

Thanks. I%26#39;ll give them a go.

I have checked out that two medium sized rental cars is going to do the trick just fine while we are there. The original plan was to pick them (the cars) up at MCO. It was just that airport run (with all the luggage) which was the issue. It crossed my mind that I could hire someone just to transport our cased to/from the hotel.

Is that possible??

You might be better off all round hiring one big van Ie a 12 seater, Cash wise it might be cheaper than hireing 2 car plus two lots of of insurance and fuel Speciality Auto%26#39;s specialise in large vans 8-12-15- and disabled adapted vechiels. they are on Mc coy Road just outside Orlando international, they do serve Sanford but just pick you up from there and take you to their depot , i think. I have used them but not from Sanford.

Ps to above; If you do as healin says hire from resort etc. It will cost you a fortune.

Being British you will have to pay ';walk in rates'; for the hire of the vehicle, and walk in rates for insurance this could alone could cost you 拢40 a day for each car.

If you do decide to hire a car do so before you set off from Britian. Ask for an :- All inclusive deal. Nothing to pay when you get there. so you know what the total cost is going to be before you get there. Or you might have to face hobsons choice. Holiday Auto%26#39;s should be able to get you a 12 seater. If they dont know about Speciality Auto%26#39;s you can always tell them about them and let them get you a All inclusive package.

Bariblak

We managed to get 7 people + 7 cases in a 7 seater. Mind you there was no room to breath, couldn%26#39;t see out of windows, people were sitting on cases but its only 30 mins so we could put up with it. You should be able to get 2-3 cases in boot + 2 on laps so you may be able to do.

If you use US car renters their prices are very cheap and the difference in price between car types are small.

Oh and the 7 cases were all adult size !

You should have seen it on the way back !!!
