I read somewhere that the Disney fireworks can be seen from Windsor Hills. Can anyone confirm this?
J.
Viewing Fireworks from Windsor HillsI am renting my condo at Windsor Hills in April. The owners ad touts you can see the fireworks from the balcony.
I assume you would be able to see them throughout the resort. They are very close to Epcot, about 1 mile, and 1.5 miles from Magic Kingdom. Certainly close enough to see.
Viewing Fireworks from Windsor HillsIn a stright line Epcot is a little over 3 miles away and Magic Kingdom is 5.5 miles away, you are not going to see the fireworks from the magic kingdom, you may, just may, be able to see some of the highest fireworks that are shot off at Epcot but its not going to be anything your going to enjoy.
Thanks for the review! I plan on being in the parks for the fireworks anyway. You just confirmed my decision.
Why do you think Windsor Hills states they are 1.5 miles to Disney?
The extra travel doesn%26#39;t bother me, but they should be truthful.
Some areas of W.H. will be able to see the fireworks, but most areas will not.
Fireworks from 5 miles away will appear at approximately 30 degrees up from the horizon (assuming 90 degress is looking straight up in the air). Unless you have a condo/townhome/villa on the outside edge of the resort facing Disney...AND the villa has no obstuctions in front of it above the 30 degrees (trees, or another condo/townhome/villa)...then your chances are slim of seeing them. You may, perhaps, be able to hear them if the wind is in the right direction.
I%26#39;d ask the owner/agency of the particular accomodation you are interested in.
Cakelady. Perhaps 1.5 miles equates (as the crow flies...a straight line)....from W.Hills to any ';outer edge'; of property that Disney owns. 1.5 miles may be the truth...but stretching it a tad as far as actually getting to Disney.
Come on now....it%26#39;s 1.5 miles just to drive from W.H to get to I-192...then a couple of miles on 192 to get to the exit for Disney...then a couple of miles to get to the main entrance and the parking lot! Then the tram ride, monorail, etc. etc. etc. five miles (as the crow flies) from W.H. to where the fireworks actually happen is probably more accurate.
The truth in advertising!!! (Or lack thereof). Nobody mentions the ';quality'; of the view of the fireworks from W.H.!!!
They are 1.5 miles from Disney ';Property'; than you have to travel on Disney property before you get to any of the parks.
Blue....They are telling the truth, if you can see 1 spark from 1 firework, from 1 spot (that spot of course is on the roof of the building) they can say you can see the fireworks.
JayEss05......
Yes. You can see the fireworks from W.H. because you are only 1.5 miles away from Disney.
If you are a high flying crow.
No offense.
Seems to me it was the condos overlooking that little lake that said you could see the fireworks from the balcony.
I like the ';lawyer'; comments regarding truth in advertising.
I think we should all just plan at being in the parks for the displays. I know Epcot is good, but I am hearing a lot about other displays. Does anyone want to let us know what the others are, and rate them?
I would appreciate this, since we will be there 7 days.
