Christmas in St. Augustine

We are planning to visit st. augustine in December but was wondering when the best time is, for the most to do and light shows etc. We have a 14 moth old so he will be a 1 1/2 when we go.

Thank you all for the help.

Christmas in St. Augustine

I have heard it is awesome, but have never been myself. I will also be going this year. I have friends who have been and they say it it worth the trip. My boss and his wife go back every year. They never miss it!

If you are staying a night or 2, in my opinion the best B %26amp; B is 63 Orange Street. Jackie is the owner and is ';sweet as pie';. She is welcome to children, which most B %26amp; B%26#39;s are not welcome to children. She is a fantastic cook and breakfast is out of this world. She is closest B %26amp; B to downtown area welcome to children and least expensive. There is a 2 day minimum on weekends at all B %26amp; B%26#39;s. Weekdays are fine to stay one night and of course less expensive.

St. George Inn is a good place too. Very affordable. It is in the heart of downtown area.

Whatever you do, stay away from the Anchorage Inn. If you have a child that is younger, he or she is going to be all over the place, sitting on the floor, crawling, walking and touching everything that goes in the mouth! That place is downright gross! Carpet is nasty. I wore flip flops in the shower and walked around the room with shoes on too.

Any time in December is good, during the first weekend there will be the nightwatch where 18th century re-enactors do a torchlight parade in town, it%26#39;s a grand spectacle. For kids, the best place is The Pirate Haus (have a look at their website), they have pirate toys for kids (fisher price).
