Hi,
I was planning top go to Orlando in June. My brother has asked if I would consider going early in July as he wants to see most of the World Cup!! On average are the parks a lot more busy in July then say 17th June onwards? UK kids don%26#39;t break up till end of July but not sure about USA.I don%26#39;t want to get there and the parks to be so busy that you end of waiting for rides for ages. I went last June 18th for 2 weeks and it was fine. Any help would be great......
would I be making a mistake going in July
YES... late june 3x the cost.. 3x the crowds 3x the heat %26amp; humidity...............3x the hassle.
would I be making a mistake going in July
Go in late June, crowds are awful during our school holidays. It is even better to leave it until early to mid september - check out http://www.touringplans.com/BestDays.htm - trouble is you will have to deal with possible hurricanes. regarding the world cup, it will be shown all over the USA so you should be OK, not sure what times the games will be though (time difference between US and Germany)
talking of the world cup, which is slightly off topic i know... but are the USA in the world cup finals as i%26#39;m deciding who to cheer for as my country only has one footballer and ten donkeys and won%26#39;t be there... cant think of a country i like more, i wonder if you can get a USA football shirt in orlando....
... hey c%26#39;mon i%26#39;m Welsh we%26#39;re not natural born footballers, but rugby......
I trust the footballer you refer to is Danny Gabbidon, of West Ham United!!
Isn%26#39;t there someone with a name like Riggs or Giggs or something, plays for Wales?!?!?

US school are generally closed all July and go back early August. Hence July parks crowded with US families. August parks crowded with UK families. Not an easy decision.......
We like to go May but presume not a possibility for you.
Footnote .... please keep footie discussions off this website.
Thanks for your input. Might try and get him to go about 22nd June as that is little later and not to much of July will be spent in Orlando. Will mention about sky and possibility of watching football there.
Traveller113,
For your info UK kids don%26#39;t all break up at the end of July. A lot of the Scottish kids get out of school at end of June or early July. Scotland is in the UK last time I checked, although may not be in the World Cup but then again England are not through yet either. You will probably be able to see the matches on Satellite TV. You might want to consider renting a villa with satellite so that you can watch the matches (and hopefully celebrate) whatever time of day or night they are on (6 hr time diff I think) and the thought of getting back to your hotel.
As our schools normally break up at the end of June /early July I normally check prices at this time and June is normally at least 100 pounds cheaper for flight.
Another point to note is that if you get up early, which is easy especially in your first few days, then you can get round most of the big rides before the day gets too hot and the park gets too busy.
We have been in July a few times and if you plan well and get there for the car parks opening then you can be back by the pool by 2.30pm- 3pm.
Sorry for my error. Yes, Scotland is in the UK LOL I was not aware that the schools finished so early on. I know for the main part of England they finish around 26th I think but about 10 years since I was at school. But things change all the time.
I will keep an open mind and even though I woudl like to see some of the matches I won%26#39;t let it dictate the holiday if poss.
Went last year arrived - 2nd July (with 4 year old and 1 year old.) Don%26#39;t know what all the whining is about. Booked for next year arriving 3rd July!! Just go for it - it%26#39;s great being there for 4th July. Only concern is being able to watch Scotland in World Cup final against Brazil !!
