Hi, we will be going to Orlando in December and would like to stay in the ';Lake Buena Vista area'; and any views would be appreciated. jan
Lake Buena Vista Hotel reccomendations please
I%26#39;d recommend the Hilton in the WDW Resort - very nice ammenities. Reasonable prices. Good location - right across the street from Downtown Disney where there%26#39;s tons of good dining options. Also, nice pool area and good service. We%26#39;re going back this Nov. Another possibility you may want to try for Dec. is the Orlando World Center Marriott - very good reviews and it has an indoor pool as well as a huge outdoor pool complex. In Dec, it%26#39;ll probably be too chilly to swim outdoors, so the indoor option may be nice. Keep in mind though that the Marriott does not offer Disney transportation. Which parks will you be going to? If you%26#39;re visiting Universal, I%26#39;d recommend staying on property. Also, many people recommend staying on property in Disney if you have kids, and don%26#39;t want the hassle of driving. (Disney offers the best transportation.) The Hilton does provide transportation to the parks, but it%26#39;s not Disney owned. Can%26#39;t comment on that because we drove ourselves.
Lake Buena Vista Hotel reccomendations please
Hi, Jan
It really depends on how much do you want to spend. There are lots of wonderful hotels in the Lake Buena Vista area. For us is the only place to be (yes, we have already stayed inside WDW property thrice).
We love the Hawthorn Suites Lake Buena Vista hotel at Palm Parkway. This November we麓ll be returning for our second stay. It麓s a relatively new hotel with a good feeling about it. The rooms are spacious with a full kitchen. They offer a nice free breakfast and a light meal from Mon to Thu evenings. U$ 99/internet rates. Check their site:

But if you want something cheaper, try Confort Inn Lake Buena Vista at the same road (Palm Pkwy). We麓ve stayed there for 2 years(from 2002 to 2003). They have nice rooms with a little fridge and coffee-maker. Nothing fancy but just OK. U$ 55/internet rates.
Have a lovely trip!
Hi Jan
we like the sheraton safari at LBV, i have check the prices for christmas and Feb and its coming in at around 200 per nite, ive even checked the aaa.com (us =of our aa)and its no cheaper there, i wouldnt pay these prices, if it came down i would as its a really nice hotel but not 200 nice

Hyatt Grand Cypress and Villas at Grand Crpress are top of the line, and priced accordingly. Marriott Orlando World Center is a mega resort. I stopped staying there because of its size and all the coventions it hosts, but has its own golf course and is a very nice place, though I think the Hyatt%26#39;s a shade better.
There are many budget and condo choices in the area, and the Hilton mentioned above is a favorite of friends. Below is a website that has a wide range of budget options on and off Disney property (but not Disney owned) at good rates.

The Vistana is much used by friends, and found acceptable, but not raved about.
Early December is low season, so do look for a good deal if that%26#39;s your time frame.
We have stayed at the Hawthorne, Sheraton Safari and Clarion. Favorite for a family is the Hawthorne.
We loved the Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress. The pool and grounds are beautiful. They also offer free transportation to the Disney parks.
Thanks for all your replies!! We were looking at the Hilton in WDW but people have told us its closed?? any info??
It%26#39;s not closed but it looks like it%26#39;s sold out around the 10th thru the end of December.
The Hilton has a new resort in Lake Buena Vista area on the same street as the Premium Outlets. Called Hilton Grand Vacations Club on International Drive. It is an Italian themed resort that is beautiful with a great pool and activities. If you are there at Christmas you will be luck to have holiday themed activities and stocking delivery to your room (if you have kids.) This resort is getting a lot of attention and breaking records for Hilton.

We have just stayed in the Sheraton Vistana Resort, which is along the 535, about 4 minutes away from the shops in LBV. Location was excellent. It%26#39;s a time share resort but apartments can be rented. The rooms are either 1 bed or 2 bed, with all facilities you would need, including pools/bar/food. It%26#39;s a gated entrance so is secure.
