Where to stay in Orlando(should I choose disney resort)

We are kinda trying a last minute trip to WDW literally. These are the details. TRavel dates Feb 4 to Feb 7th. We would be travelling with an 1 year old baby. Should we stay at the disney resorts so that we could take the shuttle to the park? If so, what Disney resort is the best for a $100-200 budget. Could the disney resorts be booked by priceline? I have used priceline to book hotels before and have had great success. Could you please tell some tips to book it for a better deal?

I just read in another post that it is $9 parking fee. Is it better to rent a car and pay the parking fees for the 3 days.

If it helps, I would like to go the Magic kingdom, WDW and animal kingdom.

Thanks in advance

Vidya

A few questions.

1. Is the $100-200 budget a night or for the 3 nights.

2. You said ';Renting a car and paying the parking fee';,..... IS it better than what?

3. You mean what? when you say WDW?

Wow, this is short notice. You are probably packing your bags now. I have stayed in the park, and in April will be renting a condo. outside of the park.

With a small child, if you can afford to stay in the park, it would be good. Don%26#39;t push yourselves to see everything, you will be frazzled, and so will your child. Go back to the room to relax, and enjoy the pool areas.

I have heard good things about the Port Orleans. Look into the value hotels. I have friends who always stay at the Wilderness lodge, and love it.

Good Luck!

I better restate #3.

What location are you talking about when you said WDW.

No hotels are actually %26#39;in the park%26#39;, so dont be misled! WDW consists of Magic Kingdom, MGM, Animal Kingdom, EPCOT and 2 water parks.

Since it%26#39;s a short stay and you have a 1 year old, I highly recommend staying on site. My favorite moderate resort is Port Orleans Riverside. For booking purposes I would look for pricing on a couple sites, as well as calling Disney directly for pricing. Ask if they have any ';special rates'; available. Also, if you have AAA there might be a discount.

We always rent a car, but if you stay on site you could book Disney%26#39;s ground transportation or an individual company such as www.mearstransportation.com or www.floridatowncar.com and then use the transportation within Disney to get around the parks.

There are Baby Care centers located in each of the parks that are nice to use for feeding, changing or resting with the little one.

If you%26#39;re arriving on the 4th and departing on the 7th, that leaves you with just 2 full days. I would do Magic Kingdom the first day and on the second day do Animial Kingdom in the a.m. and MGM in the p.m. If you find you have more time or if you extend your stay, Downtown Disney is fun to visit also. They have a huge lego store, a train that goes on a small track, shopping, restaurants and last but not least Ghiradelli (sp?) ice cream parlor.

Have a magical time!

1st depending on what you are referring to as a budget. If it is for the length of stay and are on a really tight budget stay somewhere downtown disney the shuttles run nonstop (free) and there are a couple of really inexpensive hotels there. Our first trip out we were on squeeky tight budget and stayed at Grosvenor for $45 a night. It is a little better than a motel 6. But, it is right across street from downtown disney. We were the last stop on shuttle pickup and coming back to hotel we would hop off at hotel across street and walk across street.

If your budget is per day definitely stay on property. You can either stay at a value or a moderate resort. If you go this route definitely get the meal plan. You may or may not want the hopper you wont need the plus. You can only get the meal packages if you go through disney or disney travel agent. All the prices will be the same.

In 3 days your best bet is Magic Kingdom, Epcot, and MGM. If you decide on Animal Kingdom then get the hopper and do Animal Kingdom in morning then hop over to MGM in afternoon.

You can%26#39;t use Priceline for disney hotels but for the Downtown Disney hotels such as the Hilton, you can sometimes get them. I%26#39;d go with Port Orleans if you can get it on this short notice-and yes,I think it%26#39;s always better to have a car available especially with a baby. You%26#39;ll want to go to the grocery store I%26#39;m sure!

Hello Vidya,

I recommend a Disney resort especially traveling with a little one. It%26#39;s nice to have your transportation needs taken care of to and from the parks and to and from the airport. However because you are booking last minute you will have to pick up your own luggage at baggage claim before getting on the Disney bus as there isn%26#39;t any time for you to recieve your luggage tags. Make sure and call them at 407-W-DISNEY to make arrangements and to make sure you can still utilize the Magical Express Service.

For your price range I would recommend the Port Orleans Riverside. It would be a cute resort for your toddler also as it has a wonderful playground and waterfun area! Check it out at www.disneyworld.com

I would definately stay on-site with a little one so you can jet back to your room in the afternoon for a rest before heading back out and you won%26#39;t have to fight any traffic yourself. If your budget means per night then I highly recommend Port Orleans Riverside. It is a great resort with beautiful grounds and a boat launch to Downtown Disney. Sounds like you are only doing Disney parks so I wouldn%26#39;t worry with the added expense and hassle of renting a car. Just let Disney buses, boats and monorails do all of the driving for you. If you are flying in, you can also get transport from the airport directly to the door of your resort. You may not be able to get free Magical Express at this late date, but then again you may since it isn%26#39;t busy season. I would try. If you can%26#39;t, then you can get a Mears shuttle to and from the airport.

Ok healin, this is getting scary. We are posting to all posts at the same time.
