Are dogs allowed on any beach in Longboat Key (offically or unofficically) during any hours or off-peak season?

Dogs are not allowed on the beach at any time, both offically or unofficially. However I have never since any one police the policy.

theres a small ';dog beach'; where dogs are allowed by the bridge over to lido, and also i think near the sailing squadron, down past mote marine at ken thompson park (on longboat).

I lived on the Beach of Longboat Key for 3 years, I have 3 bulldogs, you are definately not allowed to take them on the beach, the residents are so anal there that they look out of their windows with binoculars waiting to call the police if anyone does, great place....people....well I%26#39;ll leave that one up to you.

I concur with the last message. Dogs are DEFINITELY not allowed on the beach (although, if you%26#39;re lucky, you might see some doggie ';footprints'; in the sand in the early AM). There is a wonderful walking/biking trail on the east side of Gulf of Mexico Drive that runs the length of the island, and dogs - and their humans - are permitted to stroll along this route.
