Clipper vs Oceanfront

Any thoughts/recommendations on the Sheraton property versus the re-done Ft. Lauderdale Oceanfront? Thanks!

Clipper vs Oceanfront

You will not see sunsets over the ocean if you stay at the Sheraton Yankee Clipper, although it is oceanfront (in the sand).

Starwood and the Gill family were told that the Yankee Clipper and Trader would have major renovations ASAP. I think Starwood has already started, trying to keep the Sheraton units near the top levels as Starwoods W and St Regis brand new Ft Laud hotels.

So...rooms may vary...but the price at the Clipper (esp mil/gov) via Starwood site is still pretty good. Had ocean front full glass wall rooms this May for $125 a nite. (May is a low season).
