help!!!! wedding in sanibel or naples

I am planning a November 2005 wedding and I need to reserve the vendors soon. Which would you pick for a private intimate wedding that is secluded without all the trendy cheesy tourist spots on the beach sanibel, captiva or naples. Please send me any suggestions. Thank you so much....

I was married on the beach in Bonita Springs. Try Barefoot Beach Club on Bonita Beach road. They have a 2 story reception hall that can handle about 40 people, maybe more?? It%26#39;s a private club so I don%26#39;t know it it%26#39;s available to non-members. Not a touristy/trendy spot. We were very happy with the way it turned out. Good Luck.

I would be careful choosing a beach on Sanibel or Captiva...Captiva especially since they were hit very hard by a hurricane last season. We walked the tip of Captiva in February where South Seas resort is and when it opens in January 2006 it will have been closed 17 months. The islands were stripped of much of their vegetation.

Have to agree with the above poster - we were in Sanibel and Captiva in June just for a day and while one can obviously see it was gorgeous, honestly, I don%26#39;t think the island is still not fully recovered from last year%26#39;s hurricane. The vegetation is simply not what it was before. We spent a week in Naples and it was lovely. The beaches were beautiful. Good luck!
