From here we would like to drive to Key West anyone give us a clue how long we have done Miami to KW but not accross A/Alley ?

We leave from marco it takes us about 5 hours. We do cross aligator alley.

It%26#39;s about 5 hours drive time to Key West. In season, there is also a catamaran shuttle that takes 3 hours (keywestshuttle.com). It returns the same day, however, you can make arrangements to stay over night and return on the shuttle another day.

the shuttle now that seems like a great idea any clues as to what the ticket price maybe for a round trip with a stopover ?

Our experience it that it takes really about 6 hrs to get from here to Key west. From Marco you can take US 41 which is the old Tamiami Trail a 2 lane road that I would never take at night. ( no lights and people passing eachother) Going all the way up to I-75 or the alley may actually take more time from Marco. As far as I know the boat express is out of Fort Myers which will take about 90 min from marco just to get to the dock. Seas can be rough and although I have not taken it, it was not all that fun ( 3 hours) . But the price for the boat is nearly the same as taking a small plane from Marco Airport this would be 10 min of driving to get to the airstrip and only about a 25 min Flight. The shuttle doesn%26#39;t start up again from Marco until November. It only runs from Marco during ';season';. I think the cost, as of now is $129 roundtrip...may be extra if you don%26#39;t return the same day. We thought it was a pleasant trip. If the seas are rough, they go a different route which might take longer than the 4 hours. If the seas are very rough, there is a chance of cancelling.

From where the boat shuttle drops you off, you can walk to most things in Key West.

Yes, there is also a plane shuttle.
